Our 67 Days of Activism<\/strong> campaign is a vibrant celebration inspired by Mandela Day<\/strong> in South Africa! This initiative encourages everyone to engage with their communities, spreading kindness and making a real difference in people’s lives.<\/p>

Instead of just dedicating 67 minutes<\/strong>, we decided to take it up a notch by committing to 67 days<\/strong> of activism! Our mission? To clean up Atlas Road<\/strong>, a bustling thoroughfare that runs from the Johannesburg airport area right through Kempton, Benoni, and Boksburg.<\/p>

We kicked things off on June 29, 2024<\/strong>, with an exciting litter pickup in Atlasville<\/strong>, joined by enthusiastic scouts. The following Monday, we hit the main road with the fabulous support of our friends at Homestead Helpers<\/strong>, who were with us for several days on this incredible journey.<\/p>

To make this project happen, we reached out to local businesses for funding. We aimed for R700 per day<\/strong> to cover the costs of our dedicated workers and necessary supplies. We were thrilled to see many businesses rallying behind our cause, with some even reaching out via social media to join in the fun! As we cleaned, we uncovered pedestrian paths that had been hidden for years and kerbs so overgrown they stretched half a meter into the road. It was hard work, but we couldn’t be prouder of our team who tackled this project with enthusiasm. Each day brought new sponsors on board, adding excitement to our mission. For them, this was not just a project; it was a chance to work continuously for 67 days and provide for their families.<\/p>

But this project is about so much more than just cleaning up Atlas Road. While that\u2019s the \u201cwhat,\u201d our \u201cwhy\u201d is even more important! Beyond ensuring our workers can earn an income, it’s about uplifting our residential and business communities. A clean community boosts spirits and enhances property values. It also deters vagrants and criminals by creating an environment that feels monitored and safe. The more people feel secure in their surroundings, the more they\u2019ll come to do business, leading to thriving communities filled with job opportunities. Investors notice these vibrant areas and want to contribute, creating a wonderful cycle of growth!<\/p>
